Malidreds are not typically found in the wilds of Æor. They look like a smaller version of a horse, in one of almost any color. They have a mane on their neck with a tail of matching color. With a regular horse-like coat of fur, they have a single line of fur matching their mane/tail that connects the two in an unbroken line down their backs.
They can only carry about half the weight of a regular horse and the thinness of their legs makes the poor walkers under load. Malidreds, however, don't need to walk. They can rise into the air, limited by how much they carry, from half a meter to two meters. In this way they can move above the ground up to eight times the speed a horse could run.
